but now I have a daughter that is 6. She doesn't always look before she squats...I've had to rescue her a few times. :) And my son - hes 3 - never looks. So, now I have to put it down not just for the wife- but so my kids don't drown. :)

I should invent.
It's a little tricky, and you'll have to change the wording, because I'm pretty sure it was written by Japanese or Chinese person or something. It's awesome though. If you have questions, email me. laustandphound [at] gmail [dot] com.... I can help you out. This is one of my favorite plugins, Toby actually introduced me to it.
This has lots of benefits: the cat never falls in (you know our cat would), both of us have to do something so neither of us can accuse the other of toilet seat laziness, and Kiera never has an excuse for falling in the toilet (since women seem to look for these excuses).
I would recommend giving that a try.
